A Recall is an official process in which you put an elected official back on the ballot on the next election. In short though, there is a petition put forth, its language is accepted, then if there is no pushback on the language the petition group can begin circulating. The signatures on the petition are valid for 60 days, and the language of the petition is valid for about 180 days. After signatures are filled and submitted, the petition is verified, and the motion to put the candidate on the ballot is passed or denied depending on the total count of valid signatures. The candidate then is able to run again to resecure the position, or, can back out. Other candidates have 10 days to gather signatures or pay $100 to be entered onto the ballot.
